A.) The steps of the Gordie Howe Entrace at Joe Louis Arena. The Gordie Howe entrance is the entrance near the box office at Steve Yzerman Drive and Jefferson. :)
A.) 6:45 pm, before GAME 3, TUESDAY MAY 4th
A.) Wings fans, those with game tickets and those without. Those without will be heading to a bar downtown to watch the game.
Q.) WHY TIN FOIL?
A.) The idea behind the tin-foil hats is that they keep out the NHL brainwashing.
If you're wearing tin-foil, Gary can't get to you. Our boys spent almost an entire period killing penalties in Game 2. Hopefully our mass of tin-foil will prevent further officiating-suckitude.
A.) Yeah. Absolutely.
Q.) DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN HAT?
A.) Feel free to make your own, use EXTRA LARGE aluminum foil, and fold it like a newspaper hat. But hats will also be supplied.
Q.) IS THIS AN OFFICIALLY SANCTIONED EVENT?
A.) At this time, no. It's planned to be fan-organized and fan-executed.
Q.) IS THE CHOREOGRAPHY DIFFICULT?
A.) Not at all. We want something everyone can join in on, and pick up easily.
UPDATE! THE PLAN!!
When you hear the "Let's Go Red Wings" chant start, make your way to the stairs in front of the Gordie Howe entrance. Pick a landing, unless you're very confident that you can dance UP and DOWN stairs. Spread yourselves out. Be courteous and mindful of the people trying to get into the Joe. We will chant LGRW for a few moments until we are assembled. Then the music will start.
We're going to do "the hustle". There are many versions of the hustle dance, we're doing the line dance version that is done at wedding receptions and school dances in Detroit area. Here's a link, to that version of the dance. It is NOT a hard dance to learn.
Our hopes (and my experience) has been that Detroiters cannot refuse a chance to Hustle. So give them a Tin Foil Hat and get ready to go!
When the dance is over, strike a pose by "THROWIN' UP THE WING!" For more information, see this facebook group.
Note about the dance: We're keeping the chosen song a secret. We have to have SOME element of surprise here! You'll need to add an extra beat into the dance, but it's pretty easy to just "feel" where it goes.
The official twitter hashtag is #tinfoilflashmob. Other tags to be used in conjunction with that are #redwings, #letsgoredwings, #tinfoilbrigade
